Where are things?

A Linux system follows conventions (LFS) about where files/programs are located.

bin - general-use binaries
sbin - root/system-use binaries
lib - libraries
etc - configuration
tmp - temporary files

Examples
/usr/bin
/sbin
/usr/local/lib
/home/MY_USERNAME/bin
